Description
The National Park is located in the far north of the Andean range and covers an area of 1067 square miles. The highest summits in the country are loca

The highest summits in the country are located within the park, including Pico Bolivar (5007m), Pico Bondpland (4942m) and Pico Humboldt (4290m) and it is also here where the only glaziers in Venezuela that are snow-capped throughout the whole year are situated.
The park is rich in fauna and flora and many endangered and rare species have made it their home.
One of the most popular attractions in thepark is the Merida Suspended Cable Car which is the longest (12.5 km) and highest (4765m) in the world. It leads from the Barinitas station in town over three further stations right up to the summit of Pico Espejo.
The park offers many miles of hiking trails, plenty of opportunities for fishing and it is possible to take part in guided horseback or mule excursions.
